Problems with Shut-Down of Windows with PCCardGo Driver Installed
Description of Problem
When the PCCardGo driver is installed, the suspend and hybernate modes on Windows XP can become disabled.
Affected Systems
This may occur on systems where any of the following applications are installed :
- CCP driver package for Interface Cards
- MCE (Memory Card Explorer) software
- VPUCIS or VMBCIS applications for CIS writing to Elan ASIC devices
Solution
The fix is to enable shut-down mode for the PCCardGo Driver, using the following steps.
Firstly, open Device Manager and show the hidden devices in your system :

Under 'Non Plug-and-play Drivers
find the PcCGoCls entry :
Double click on it to open it's properties. Change the startup type to 'Demand'

This will prevent the PCCardGo driver starting up every time you start your PC.
