Solution
Do not apply this solution unless there is a problem with your installation!
Download and extract this INF file and save it to your computer in the directory c:\windows\inf
To make your system use the new inf file, search for the OEMxx.inf file in the c:\windows\inf folder that contains the string relevant to your card :
PCMCIA\Sierra_Wireless-AirCard_555-5A3C
PCMCIA\Sierra_Wireless-AC710-B00E
Delete this file. Now, with the Sierra Wireless card inserted in the PCMCIA slot, go to the Device Manager and delete one of the following multifunction parent devices (appropriate to the card you have)...
- Sierra Wireless AirCard 555 PC Card Parent
- Sierra Wireless AirCard GPRS Adapter Parent Sierra Wireless AirCard EDGE Adapter Parent
- PC7000 GPRS Adapter Parent
- PC7200 EDGE Adapter Parent
Eject and re-insert the card and the card will work using the new INF file.
For Windows XP Only
If you are using Windows XP you will also need to download this INF file before applying the above solution. Copy it to the c:\windows\inf folder, replacing the existing 'mf.inf' file.
