How do I Verify the Installation of the PSeries Driver in Windows 2000 or XP?

The information below applies to the PSeries driver version 5.06 and above. In previous versions of the driver, pseries.sys appears as a hidden device and not in the driver details for the PCMCIA adapter, but otherwise the images below are similar.

Open the Device Manager and expand the "PCMCIA adapters" entry. You should see something like the following image, the names may differ depending on which kind of adapter you have purchased. These images show what appears if you have one of our P423 or P222 adapters....

Open the properties for the CardBus controller  and check that the Manufacturer is shown as "Elan Digital Systems Ltd" as in the following image...

Click on the "Resources" tab and check that an "Interrupt Request" line (IRQ) has been allocated to the PCMCIA controller as in the following dialog, the number will be different depending on your motherboard, what PCI slot the adapter is in and what other hardware is installed and it's actual value is unimportant, as long as one is assigned you should be ok...

Click on the "Driver" tab and you should see the following dialog

Finally, click in "Driver Details..." and check that the "pseries.sys" driver appears in the list of drivers as in this dialog. Check that the driver version matches the one you installed.  (NOTE - in version 5.05 and earlier of the driver, pseries.sys appears as a hidden device and not in the driver details for the PCMCIA adapter, so the screenshot below will not apply unless you download the latest driver.)

If all the above appears as displayed above, then your installation has been successful. If not, then follow the full uninstall procedure described in the readme.txt file on the driver disk and re-install using the setup program.
